Georgie and Bobby
My first wedding of 2022.
Montrose Berry farm is one of my favourite venues. There is a lot of nostalgia intwined in those perfect green lawns for me. I was best man at a wedding there back in 2013.. Ive catered for large groups of people using the kitchens there (ask me about that side hustle sometime haha). I’ve photographed beautiful people making beautiful promises there, for the last ten years, and it just doesn’t get old.
In fact, Since Daniella and her family took over the property, there has been a breath of new life into the venue. Imported doors from France for the new wedding arbour, A bar from London, and finished just weeks before Georgie and Bobby got married, a whole new extension of the barn itself. its truly magical, and I cherish every chance I get to shoot there.
Georgie and Bobby don’t have instagram. They don’t care like most do, for likes and the approval. Instead they value quality time spent with quality people. They value earnestness over pretence, laughter over fastidiousness and authenticity over a show. For these reasons I felt absolutely privileged to capture their day, and hope that I did it justice. Enjoy!
Jenna and Sam
It was set to be a perfect day. And it was.
Without any of us knowing, this was to be the very last wedding before we entered shutdown. So Ive had plenty of time to reflect.
Here are some things Ive learned.
Celebration is amazing. Dancefloors are amazing. Incredible food, shared with people is Amazing. Dressing up is amazing. Friends are amazing. Beautiful places that spend time, effort and money on upkeep are amazing. Sunsets are amazing. Live music is amazing. Spending the weekend somewhere else is amazing. Making huge life promises is amazing.
Now that things are returning to normal, dont lose sight of these things. I encourage you (the person getting married who might be reading this) to deeply enjoy your wedding. Because they are so awesome. And especially now, when we’ve learnt firsthand that these things can be taken away.
So, Plan a day like Jenna and Sam did. Because this is everything we’ve been missing.
